ASPREN

The Australian Sentinel Practices Research Network (ASPREN) is calling for expressions of interest from GPs who would be prepared to electronically submit de-identified patient data concerning influenza like illness on an ongoing basis. ASPREN is a network of sentinel GPs run through the RACGP and University of Adelaide that collects de-identified information on influenza like illness and other conditions seen in general practice. ASPREN is currently expanding its GP network as part of the Commonwealth’s bio-surveillance strategy for emerging diseases.

GPs will be provided with up to date information about emerging infectious diseases and be eligible for CPD points. Individuals and practices are welcome to be part of ASPREN. For further information on ASPREN and future workshops to be held in NSW, please contact Bridget O’Connor by phone 08 8303 7583 or fax 08 8303 3511. Thank you for considering participating in this national GP surveillance system.
