SESIAHS e-mail

All testing so far indicates that the new e-mail accounts are functioning correctly.

Each user will have a new e-mail account firstname.lastname@sesiahs.health.nsw.gov.au

If you dial in to the Area Health service please contact IDGP Help desk for information on the configuration changes you will need to make 42267056.

All Area Health e-mail users please note there is a new web mail URL

The user name and password are the same as for the old IAHS e-mail accounts.

I am advised all e-mails to IAHS e-mail addresses will be redirected to your new SESIAHS account.

There has been some reported problems with e-mails going to the incorrect recipients, initial investigations indicate this has been caused by incorrect settings in the e-mail clients.  

Main configuration change that will be needed, is to set the e-mail client to authenticate when sending emails. This was covered in a previous news item (step3), the information is included here again so that all the information is in one place.

The second configuration change is the e-mail address settings in the e-mail client (step4).    

1 Open outlook express

2  Go to the tools menu then accounts


3 A Internet Accounts box will open left click on the 2nd tab Mail, the box will look similar to the following picture the name of the e-mail account may be different for example “local Host”. Double left click on the e-mil account for the Area Health Service.


4 A new box will open that looks similar to the picture that follows. You will need to left click on the second tab Servers. The change that needs to be made is to the bottom check box, “outgoing server” “my server requires authentication” this must have be checked. There ate no changes needed in relation to the settings button that now becomes active.


5 Left click on the general tab. The important setting is to put your new e-mail address in the e-mail address field firstname.lastname@sesiahs.health.nsw.gov.au. The second item to make note of is the Reply address field where you see “****Leave Blank****” in the example there should be no text.
