IDGP and Pacific Internet
Pacific Internet is the preferred internet service provider of the IDGP. The partnership has developed through the IDGP’s desire to deliver a better service to their members through the BB4H initiative. Members of the IDGP can use any Internet Service Provider and the IDGP will support all members. However, our relationship with Pacific Internet has allowed the development of an excellent internet enabling package within the BB4H funding. The package includes a Cisco ISR router, for which the IDGP has developed a configuration (with Pacific Internet). It delivers an enterprise quality Firewall for increased network security. In addition, a VPN server, configured on the router enables practices to remotely and securely access their data. The VPN can also be used for the IDGP to deliver secure and cost effective surgery support, allowing more trouble shooting and maintenance to be conducted remotely. To assist the IDGP to develop, configure and promote the BB4H package, as part of our partnership Pacific internet provide 10% of the monthly subscription fee to the Division, the IDGP will use this funding to subsidise the Help Desk and the time-consuming development of the BB4H Cisco router configuration. The partnership also ensures priority access to Pacific Internet technical support.
