TAADIS (The Automated Accessible Diabetes Information System) the Division’s diabetes program, has closed. From 2003 the program provided: Shared internet access to patients' diabetes results for GPs and patients, reports to GPs on their patients' results and adherence to clinical guidelines, analysis of de-identified patient data for reporting to GPs, GP continuing professional development and mailouts of diabetes self-management information to patients.
A total of 46 GPs were involved and 874 patients were enrolled. One study (CEPHRIS, 2005) compared TAADIS diabetes data and the NDDP (National Division Diabetes Program) data. The analysis showed that blood pressure and HbA1c were significantly decreased and HDL significantly increased in TAADIS, compared to the NDDP.
