3. Aggregation of data
Patient diabetes data are aggregated at three levels:
-
At the individual level aggregated patient results can be viewed on the website by GPs, authorised allied health clinicians and patients.
-
At the GP level TAADIS aggregates results for each GP's patients as a group, thereby enabling GPs to compare their patients to all patients on the program. GPs can also follow their patients' adherence to NSW Health Department Clinical Management Guidelines.
-
At the Division level aggregated data is used for reporting purposes to identify apparent trends or gaps in diabetes management and potentially help compare the local population to other diabetes populations.
TAADIS reporting to GPs is fully automated, which maximises efficiency and error detection. The following reports are produced:
Quarterly Reports
Quarterly Reports graph each GP’s patients’ average aggregated HbA1c, lipids, blood pressure and BMI results and compare them to average results for all patients on the program for the 12 months to that quarter. These reports can also be viewed on the website.
Quality of Care reports
These report on the percentage of patients with results recorded on time.
Exception Reports
These identify patients with missing data.
Annual reports
These show changes and trends the average aggregated results for all patients on the program and enable changes to be observed over successive years.
Clinical Audits
Clinical audit reports give GPs feedback on the timeliness of their patient recalls in comparison with NSW Health Department clinical management guidelines. GPs are invited to review results and set goals for improvement if necessary.
