2. Replication of patient results

Patients can view their diabetes record on their home computer
Data is transferred from the Division’s diabetes database to the TAADIS website At this level, TAADIS functions as an Electronic Health Record, giving convenient access to patients' diabetes record to GPs.
Patients can access their own diabetes records, thereby using TAADIS as a self-management tool. Patient data is encrypted and is password protected.
The following data are available:
-
HbA1c, lipids and microalbumin pathology results which are automatically uploaded from GPs’ clinical software
-
Blood pressure and BMI results which are entered by the GP
The program extracts the actual results, the normal range and the date of the result and converts data from text to numerical format. Results are then standardised to allow for comparison between varying normal ranges used by different pathology providers.
