21 Dec 2007 IDGP Office Closed - OTIiS IT Service Over The Christmas Break
The IDGP Office will be closed over the Christmas break, between 22 December 2007 and 2 January 2008. OTIiS will be providing emergency IT services for surgeries over the Christmas break. 27 Sep 2007 DVA approve referrals to Exercise Physiologists
Accredited Exercise Physiologists are now authorised to provide their services to DVA members. Gold Card DVA holders are able to receive these services at no cost.
26 Sep 2007 Diabetes Management in General Practice 2007-08 now out
The 2007-08 edition of this useful guide has just been published. There have been several changes to content and appearance since the previous edition, including changes to triglyceride goals. 03 Jul 2007 New MBS item numbers for General Practice
From 1 July 2007, two new MBS items were introduced for GPs. Annual Health Assessments can now be conducted for people with an intellectual disability and there is a new item number to recognise the service provided by a practice nurse to patients with a chronic disease
04 May 2007 New Allied Health Group Services for patients with Type 2 Diabetes
From May 1 2007, patients with Type 2 Diabetes who also have a GP Management Plan in place are eligible to receive an initial assessment and up to 8 group sessions with a diabetes educator, exercise physiologist or dietician in addition to the 5 allied health services under team care arrangements.

The IDGP in conjunction with Prime TV and Wave FM have developed a community service announcement for TV and Radio that will air from the 1 March until 30 April 2007. The ad encourages parents/carers to visit their GP if they are experiencing difficulties with their children’s behaviour.
