Immunisation

General practice plays a very important role in vaccinating adults and children who reside in the Illawarra area. Local GPs are in a unique position to encourage and monitor immunisation particularly in children.

The IDGP Immunisation program provides tools, resources and support to help general practices to ensure the community is protected against vaccine preventable diseases. Divisional support aims to improve local childhood immunisation rates along with other target groups requiring routine vaccination.

We liaise closely with the Illawarra Public Health Unit and surrounding Divisions of General Practices as well as relevant State and National bodies.
